No longer a special flower
I've been away for a while and my viewing has been sporadic
but why do I have to copy the illegible letters to sign in? is this for everyone or a new Pprune security thing?
I'm still Pugilistic Animus---not some crazy hacker

Yes, it's for everyone. Anti-terrorism measures, like security at airports.

When you can't read them, just hit the refresh note immediately below them. Whenever I've done that, they've become readable.

Having just upgraded to Opera 10 I have just encountered the "illegible letters" for the first time on this site.
I can understand their value if someone or something is trying to register, but can see no point when someone is trying to log in with both ID and password.
Bots are not that clever, are they?

obviously the mods chose the easy option with the quickest implementation time
Lots of mods, few admins, but a democracy it ain't, 'cos the admins have all the keys!
