pprune is the only website this happens on?
My back button is not enabled when browsing the forums. To enable it I have to click on someones profile (the profile page lights up my back button), I then get rid of the profile page and the back button works in the forums.
Anyone else have this problem or can offer a solution???

Looks like you might be working with a frames version of the page. i.e. one with a constant menu on the left hand side.
If that's so the clicking within the main body of the page is all that's needed to make it active.
We can give you an alternative site url to bookmark which gets rid of the frame setup.
