Had any dealings with FlitePro, On Top or IFTPro?
Anybody compared any of these sims:
Jepp's 'FlitePro'
ASA's 'On Top'
Flight Deck Software's 'IFTPro v6'
The last is a DOS based program - it had a large readable AH/HSI but lacked the fancy graphics of the first two. It is my first choice. However, the bloke behind it became very ill or died. Anyone know anyone with a copy for sale? (incl UK database)
I'll be forced to buy one of the others otherwise, as FS98, as real as it gets, doesn't cut it (for me) when I'm trying to scan instruments the size of 50p pieces.
(Alternatively, any one know of a FS98 Panel I could download that provides BIG primary instruments?)
Any suggestions much appreciated.

I've downloaded among others the S340 B757/767, PA31 and BE76 panels/ a/c for FS98 and have to say that by comparision to what I've seen of the three IFR procedural trainers mentioned above, I'm really disappointed. (bearing in mind I've a relatively old 17" monitor that doesn't like 1024x768)
Don't get me wrong, I'm really impressed by the level of detail in the 757 and S340 especially. But it's of no benefit if I can't see the difference between, say, 7 and 9 degrees on either the AH or HSI. (I'm a fussy four eyed b'stard, I know.)

I've got a zillion panel add ons for FS98 and whilst some are excellent, none really cut it for home IFR training IMHO. I think the MooneyIFR aircraft available on FS2000 is good but again is let down by a pissfarting ADI. For the £££ I don't think you can beat IFTpro.

If you want a reasonabe IFR platform, and can live with scenery that's not as modern as some, but is very accurate aviation wise ( NDB DME/s, and centre fix dme's with offsets), then AS2 is worth a look, especially if you can run it on a decent size monitor. I use a multi screen version as part of a semi professional system for exactly the reason you've mentioned, instrument size and readability.

I'm getting a demo copy of RTSPro in the next few days. http://www.rtspro.com/
(There's a downloadable demo but my connection keeps going to sleep.)
It's a French bit of kit, designed by 'IFR Pilots' for same. Fits in the market somewhere between FlitePro and ELITE.
Had excellent reviews.
