If you want a reasonabe IFR platform, and can live with scenery that's not as modern as some, but is very accurate aviation wise ( NDB DME/s, and centre fix dme's with offsets), then AS2 is worth a look, especially if you can run it on a decent size monitor. I use a multi screen version as part of a semi professional system for exactly the reason you've mentioned, instrument size and readability.
