Arrow IE 5.5 - Opening a new window

This is SO annoying - when browsing with IE5.5 and I want to open an additional window. I use "ctrl + N" and a new window appears.

BUT, the window is not covering the whole screen, it varies in size from time to time, but I ALWAYS have to click the "maximize" icon in the upper right corner.

Now I cant remember, but I think this started when I upgraded to 5.5. (Im using win98 SE)

Should I go back to an earlier version or is there an easy way of fixing this?

Try resizing the window when you open it, drag it to the larger size rather than maximize it. Close it and then reopen again.

Skunkworks............

I had the same problem combined with the fact that IE was becoming slower and getting "hung" on a regular basis.
Someone suggested I try "Netscape" which I have recently installed and found very good and a big improvement on IE.
Installation was easy, direct from their web site.
