HELP! BT Anytime users!

Apologies for intentionally posting this thread in a forum so obviously unrelated to the following question, but I'm in need of an answer pronto.

Whilst surfing the Net yesterday, my home page (BT) stated that all BTinternet Anytime members (I am one such person) needs to download and upgrade their dial-up network. I clicked on the given link, and so my dial-up network and BT Anytime icon has changed. However, it has changed for the worse, as I cannot actually connect even though I double-click on the BT Anytime icon. It appears the 'phone number has changed - perhaps this is the reason.

Could any fellow BT Anytime members please tell me the actual 'phone number which is used to dial-up? I would be MOST grateful.

Sorry once again for this appearing in the wrong forum.

I use BT Anytime to connect but I never use the software provided by anyone else. Learn to configure your own connection and use a generic version of any browser software. If you can get yourself an Apple Mac and avoid thise problems altogether.

The BT Anytime number for ISDN is 0800 7317964 and I think, but am not sure, the 56k dial-up is the same except for the last number which should be a 3.

I upgraded a few days ago and enjoy faster connection.I have an ISDN line and the number changed in the dial-up field to
0808 9933001

Carbheat, assuming you have a BT speedway ISDN card, Freeserve have just upgraded their connection so I now get a peak download speed of around 23Kb for webpages from a single line. Unlimited acces is cheap too, and the connection has improved beyond recognition since the bad days of late last year. May be of interest to you - I cant get broadband either

Also, the card is made by AVM. (www.avm.de) and they have upgraded the software which BT havent and now include new compression.

I also downloaded the software available from BT, and it promptly told my laptop that it no longer had a modem !!

Back to manualy configuring the dial up connection and all is well.
