Following my request for information on recording my old vinyl albums onto hard disk. I discovered that my basic Realjukebox has a facility in tools to record from mic/line in.
I have recorded both MP3 and WAV files with success, but with one glitch. When I activate the record command the microphone is made the default recording source, and I have to re-select the tick box on line in recording volume before the record commences playing. This pantomime prevents me recording separate tracks rather than one whole side of an album.
I have checked the Mic to mute and turned the recording level to minimum with no success.
Anyone got any idea's on how to disable the Mic. I can't find it in hardware manager. (Win ME).
Thanks in anticipation.

Not sure how to do the exact thing you ask, but you can avoid some of the pantomime by recording the whole side of your LP, then using something like Wavedit to separate the side into its tracks. OK, so it's another pantomime, but it's easy to do (and it is free
).
