BBC.CO.UK now sponsored by Rolex

Anyone else notice how the page colour is now Rolex green, and there are 2 adverts on the home page? I thought the BBC was supposed to be funded by those of us unfortunate enough to have to pay the license fee in the UK?

Not quite. Various parts of the Beeb have to be self-funding (the website, BBC World, BBC America, etc) and, afaik, only the UK broadcast channels are funded by the licence fee.

I think the figures that came out actually suggested that things like BBC America/World actually subsidised BBC "UK", so ya can't complain too much.

From the FAQ...

Can I change the colour?

The page colour changes throughout the day to reflect the main feature area. Alternatively, there are several different colour schemes that can be selected for the page by the user. Click 'Customise your homepage' to see the options.

Gawd knows how BBC world manages to subsidise any part of the UK operation, it's dire. I couldn't find anyone in Sweden who admitted to actually watching it.

Just a thought, I wonder if I can customise it with 'big babes weekly'?
