If you have actually formatted it, then you need a low level editor and I don't know of one for USB connected flash media. The data may be lost for ever anyway because the directory/FAT will have been rewritten and reconstructing the blocks without having the pointers to them is going to be very hard.

For undeletion of files that have been deleted, I have used FinalRecovery which works brilliantly, on various camera media.

A program called RescuePro did it for me, I have no info if there is a freeware program available to do it.

Cheers

We used Data Doctor Recovery successfully (for memory cards) after our camera SD card was corrupted. Don't know if it will work after a format though...

You could try www.recuva.com/ (free) though I tend to use File Scavenger www.quetek.com/prod02.htm - (free to try).

Good luck...

Perhaps all is not lost even after a format.
Google has a number of responses including this one which mentions formats.

Sandisk have a recovery program which they include with some of their flash cards. (Mine came with an 8GB card, unfortunately it is a small CD which I cannot use in my Mac) I would try their program, it may help.
PS, just noticed that this URL is for the Mac version but there is a link on the page for a PC version.
PPS. I am assuming that I should not have to mention that if you have overwritten the card with more images some of the previous data will likely not be recoverable, but then I am sure you knew that :-)

Yet another PS/edit but here is the link to the Sandisk program and it says it covers formatted cards.
