Keep losing Wireless Settings
I have installed an ASUS WL-167G USB wireless adapter on my daughters laptop running Windows 98se but because she doesn't always have it plugged in when she starts the computer it is losing it's settings. When she plugs it in to go on the internet the Static IP address has gone back to automatic and it looses it's gateway ip address and cannot connect to the internet and have to reset it every time she goes to use it. Anyway of stopping this from happening?

Does it happen, if the USN adaptor is plugged in when the PC is switched on?
i.e. - shut the PC down, and the then start it, with the USB device attached?
Failing that, the other thing to try is to re-scan for hardware, under the system icon, in the control panel. You could always upgrade as well
