How do I get rid of IM Names

I was just wondering how to get rid of it please? I got it when a freind was away from her computer and it came up, so I clicked on it and downloaded for some reason. Well my Antivirus quarintened it but on MSN it still comes up and can be quite annoying. Im on Windows XP Home Edition and would really like quite a simple way to get rid of it .

Thanks Smile!!!

(sorry if there was another post along the same lines but did an advanced search and didnt find anything, so any help please?)

Try these methods.

1. Open windows Task Manager: Ctrl/Alt/Del then click on Processes. Stop all instances of IM-SVR.EXE by right clicking and selecting STOP. Close the task manager. Click on Start/Search. Search for im-svr. Delete all entries. If that doesn't work then try:

2. http://www.stiggy.be/msn/index.php/IM-Names(Malware)
This involves editing the registry but is fairly straightforward.

Good Luck.
