Unhappy Laptop screen is upside down

Hi Peeps,

I've got a Dell (dont laugh) Inspiron thats about 4 months old. It uses WinXP home edition.

Have to say that its been going like a dream. BUT my 10 year old was using it and suddenly, she says, the screen flipped upside down.

So, I turned it off for half an hour and on re-booting the Initial screens, ie the ones with the Dell and XP logos, are the right way up. but when Windows starts and gets to the password bit, the screen is upside down.

Would be pleased to hear any ideas to help wth this.

Thanks

LP

I've worked with flat-screen panels that can be rotated 90 degrees to portrait mode, and the laptop has additional screen driver software that rotates the display 90, 180, 270 degrees.

Perhaps you have something similar installed? It could be in the graphics card properties, perhaps.

On my PC I have an NVIDIA tab on display properties (for the venerable GeForce 2 MX card) that allows me to rotate the screen.

If all else fails, sell it to an Australian.

Try the easy one first! Hold down: Ctrl+Alt+ Up Arrow. If no joy then you'll have to explore the properties of your graphics card. Good luck.
