Forms Parking Windwo

When I shut my computer down, I often get an error message (which generally comes twice) which tells me that windows_forms_parking_window has not shut down properly. I have to click on the ok button (twice) and then my pooter will go to sleep nicely.

I can't find anything useful on Google, so do any of you clever people have an answer?

I went to google, took out the underscores in your error message, put some speech marks either end of phrase, and it returned this.
Couple of results were worth checking, namely here(bottom of page query 25) and here, important bit being
Hey Rails how you doing?
I came across this problem once before, it seems the problem is a piece of badly written script associated with a HP all in one printer.
If the "WindowsFormsParkingWindow" is in XP (ie shutdown). Make sure you don't have HP Image Zone Fast Start (hpqthb08.exe) in your startup folder
Any joy?

Thanks Screaming.

Before posting I'd done the same thing and came across the ref you pointed me to. It's about the only thing I could find with a clear cause and effect, unfortunately, it didn't fit my case.

Thanks again though.

Going back to the 2nd link of 3, maybe it holds true? Perhaps you have some sloppily written 3rd party code somewhere?
Check your start up items (Start, Run, MSConfig, StartUp tab)
Also check running processes in task manager, and see what they're for (somewhere like Viper's page is a good start, his site is still down, so here is a back up of it), and any non standard non-microsoft would be the first to disable/eliminate from your lines of enquiry.

Ah excellent!

Thanks SS.

I've had that coming up on shutdown as well recently. It does seem to be linked to the HP7310 when it is connected over a LAN to your computer.

Cheers
