MP3 Files into WAV files

Hi,

I want to edit an MP3 file. The only way I can think of is convert to WAV, then open with Sound Recorder and start chopping at each end until I'm left with the bit I want (which is in the middle).

1. Can anyone tell me how to either convert an MP3 into a WAV, or

2. How to edit an MP3 track?

Thanks in advance.............

Find someone with a Creative Labs Audigy sound card. On the installation disk is a program called Creative Wave Studio which allows you import/change/export etc WAV and MP3s (and .RAW files). You can import as a WAV and export as an MP3 and vice versa so it is very useful. You can also get to do lots of stuff with the actual waveform so chopping or cropping is not a problem.

Anyway, I'll do it for you by email if you like, just let me know via PM.

Thanks for the replies so far.

spannersatcx:

I do have Nero but could find no sign of an EDIT function for editting an MP3 track. Any more info on that?

I'd prefer to go with that than download yet another program.

NWA girl

Thanks but I don't need a re-sizer although it could be handy, I guess. I need to cut out a segment of an existing MP3. It's roughly in the middle of the track.

I looked at www.nch.com.au but ADD got the better of me and I gave up searching.

Cool

It's in Nero 6 Ultra edition, under Nero Wave Editor. If you have version 6 you may need to pop the installation disk in as it may be something you need to add rather than an automatic installation option.
