Question Control Panel ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS

Windows XP Pro SP2, everything has been behaving fine.

I went to remove a trial version programme today and when I clicked on "add or remove programs" there were only 7 items displayed on there (at last count there must have been 30 or 40) The programmes are still on the pc and still working ok but are not displayed on the "add/remove" Also, those programmes remaining no longer have the facility to remove them.

Does anyone know how this can happen and , more importantly, how I can have them properly displayed again. Thanks, Scally

Perhaps you should read my post on the SP2 thread above. It might just help. Everything needs to sort and settle.

Thanks for prompt reply pop, I had read the post on sp2 and tried searching for this problem on here and other sites to no avail. I've been running xp pro sp2 on both machines at home since sp2 became available to me, about 2 month's I suppose. Other machine is fine and they're both well "settled in". It's as though the register has become corrupt, but I'm not going to dabble in there
