why does IE 6 Bomb out ?????

why does IE 6 Bomb out ?????
Sorry about this, I am being lazy!
Before I start looking maybe someone has the answer.
On some threads if I click on it IE6 bombs out straight to the desk top and closes.
Any ideas why guys?
I am using XP Pro version 5.1 and IE6 version 6.0.2800. Machine is AMD XP2500+ with 512 of DDram and a 160 GB HDD.
As i say I could start investigating myself but I am being lazy and maybe there is a simple answer.

Lets start with the Guide in the thread:
Guide for Eliminating Spyware, Adware, and Random Popups
If that does not eliminate the problem, then:
Download Hijack This! and post the log file here. Do NOT make any repairs. (Hijack This! pulls up everything, including programs that are supposed to be in your computer.)
If you some reason we do not find the problem there, then we update WinXP, IE, and the Hardware Drivers.
