Spam & Email
Like, I suspect, many people, I get inundated with spam. Like many people, I use MailWasher to try to keep my head above the rising tide.
I used wildcards to blacklist various ISP's, but I have recently decided that the volume of email from four major ISP's was so huge that they justified adding to the wildcards. They are AOL, HotMail, MSN and Yahoo.
Hence, unless I prime people in advance with the secret codeword to bypass MailWasher, if their emails come from any of the above email providers, MailWasher will automatically delete it.
Anyone else getting sick and tired of this sort of nonsense and wonder when the major ISP's are going to sort out their respective acts?

HugMonster, I agree and empathise 100%.
I have already blocked all mail from the four you mention, have a blacklist with 264,000 domains on and still get inundated, particularly on my work address.
Spammers use so many techniques and can keep registering meaningless domain nomains that it seems impossible for the individual to stem the tide.
I hope, like you, that something will be done, but I aint holding my breath.

HugMonster,
With the latest version of Mailwasher it is possible to train it so that it learns from past emails. After a couple of days, your Inbox gets very quite.
Take Care,
Richard

My ISP has introduced some very good anti-spam filtering in the last few weeks. Instead of 90 or so pieces of cr@p per day, it's now down to just a couple.
Why are these spammers never caught and tried? Or is it just that speeding motorists are an easier target?
