This is getting to be an FAQ. The consensus is to use one of the following solutions:
1) Change to a non-IE browser...Opera is the favourite, but people also recommend Mozilla
2) If you want to keep IE, download the Google toolbar from Google...it has a pop-up killer which is very effective.
3) Use something called "Pop-up killer". This may no longer be available, as it is difficult for someone in his back-room at weekends to compete with Google, but it was very good.
Hope helps.

I find the free version of Panicware's PopUpStopper to be essentially 100% effective.

Hobo,
Could you tell us which OS are you running and what type of Popups are you getting? Are they Internet Explorer Popups or Messenger Popups?
Also download and run Lavasoft's Ad-Aware so we can see if your computer has an Malware on it. (Another excellent program is Spybot.)
Take Care,
Richard
P.S. Popup blockers work, but they can just mask your problem if you have Malware installed on your computer.
