It sounds like your FSB is set at 200Mhz rather than 333Mhz (2.08/333 x 200 = 1.25Ghz). You may have a jumper set incorrectly on your mainboard.
Go to page 1-10 of your manual and look at paragraph 2 reference the settings for the CPU_FSB jumper.
It should be set on pins 1-2 (default) to allow the board to auto select between 400/333/266Mhz, if set on pins 2-3 it wires the board to only support 200Mhz.

LDG_GEAR _MONITOR,
Tell me about your RAM. What is the Brand and Model? (nForce is very picky about RAM.)
You have the proper multiplier for your CPU: 12.5x
Make sure your CPU Model# is: AXDA2600DKV3D
Also make sure you have the Heatsink on properly. If you have it on backwards it will lock up the computer.
Take Care,
Richard

For a 333Mhz CPU, your settings should be:
CPU Speed: 2083mhz
CPU Frequency Multiplier: 12.5
CPU External Frequency: 166
Memory Frequency: Auto
CPU VCore: 1.650V
Have you updated your BIOS to the latest version? The latest version is 1006, check when your machine boots and see what version you have. If it's earlier, you can download version 1006 from here. Read the manual for how to load it.

ORAC,
That link is the incorrect motherboard. LDG_GEAR _MONITOR has the A7N8X Deluxe which comes in two different chipsets. You have to look on the PCB between the second and third PCI Slots to tell which revision the motherboard is.
Rev. 1.03, 1.04, and 1.06 are the nForce2 400 Chipset.
Rev. 2.00 and higher are the nForce2 Ultra400 Chipset.
A7N8X Deluxe motherboard Rev 1.04 and higher will work with the 2600+ without needing a BIOS revision. If the motherboard Rev is 1.03 and the BIOS as never been updated, then it will need a BIOS will need to be updated.
I am still leaning towards a RAM issue though. Here is the list of Approved nForce RAM:
nForceTM Memory Compatibility
Take Care,
Richard
P.S. Here is the link for the BIOS: A7N8X DELUXE

A few things to try:
Remove one of the RAM sticks, see if you still have the same problem. If yes then repeat for the other stick. Try moving the sticks into a different DIMM slot.
Try 'Load Setup Defaults' in the BIOS menu (see manual page 2-26).
Cheers

LDG_GEAR _MONITOR,
I would take the RAM back to the place you bought it and tell them you need nForce Approved RAM for your computer. I am 99.9% sure your problem is RAM that is not 100% compatible with nForce. See if you can borrow some Crucial RAM to test with.
If you live in the U.S.A. get two sticks of Mushkin Level II Black CAS 2.2.2 PC-2700 or PC-3200. It is 100% rock solid stable with nForce and overclocks like crazy should you ever need to.
Take Care,
Richard
P.S. Once we get your computer running up to speed, then we will work on FS2k4.

ORAC,
Thank you for the heads up. I will go post the info in the MSI Forums right away. There are many people from the Europe looking for a way to get Mushkin RAM.

Err have you tried view/instruments/ then click on main panel..
Then when you select different views - One should now include the instrument panel! (just keep pressing S to cycle round these views.)
