It looks as though things are moving once again. CAL has finally hired a new CEO/CFO and the audits have been completed. Maybe now they'll begin the pilot hirings once more, trying to be optimistic.

That would be horrible planning on their part. All that money and time spent to review resumes, perform interviews, hire a firm to administer aptitude exams/psych assessments, rent out time on simulators and have your pilots take time out to perform flight exams. If they decide to start all over again, then I'll really understand why they're losing money year after year. Hopefully the new blood (Michael Dilollo ) will bring some new ideas and won't allow such waste to occur.

So, CAL has stated that it is expanding routes. That simply means more flights, that require more crewing.

Does this mean, the calls to interviewees should have been made like yesterday?
Starting to loose faith in the hiring plans. Will it ever happen?

This sounds like a possible positive move in the right direction. Expansion of routes usually entail an increase and demand for more crew. Let's just hope that those calls for pilots will be made soon. Does anyone know whether or not Caribbean will be scraping that London link or will they still keep it going but upgrade the product to compete with the big boys (BA, Virgin).

Sick Out
Hopefully after this weeks events between CAL and it's pilots some of the guys waiting for that call will actually receive one. I'm assuming a shortage of pilots and pilots being over worked were two of their long standing issues with CAL. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Explanation
That type of operation would help you understand why another year of losses. and nothing in 8 months..
That said, with an airline with heavy competition from JetBlue, misguided Atlantic flights and general mismanagement, you and others seemed surprised you haven't heard from CAL..hmm!
