As a Captain, you will make approximately $4000.00/month (after taxes) until you are completely signed off and flying the line. Then you will make somewhere between $5000 and $6500 per month (after taxes) depending on how much you fly. The tax rate is somewhere in the neighborhood of 33% here in Panama.

You will also receive a housing allowance of $800/month, BUT it is also taxed so in reality you'll get about $590/month. This is nowhere near enough money to rent a decent place to live in Panama.

You also have to buy your own uniform, pay for all medical testing (approx $500.00) and pay for all licensing exams (approx $400.00).

Even though the pay sucks, the real problem here is a lack of days off.

Good Luck!

Hello,

I am invited for an interview with COPA for direct entry captain.
Anyone at COPA can chime in and help me get some gouges.
Also does anyone know what sim is used for the sim evaluation (737-700 or 737-800 or Embraer 190) and the profile they have you fly.

Thanks a lot

Well, UNPAC signed yet another piece of **** contract with COPA.

$1052/month increase in base pay and 9 days off/month (from 7).

I guess COPA pilots really aren't worth much.

Now where did I put that Mandarin Chinese Rosetta Stone CD?

Devil COPA paycheck increase

So, when starts COPA pilots receiving the increase?
How much is the basic pay for the 63 hours, and how much per extra hour?plus
The 800 Us housing (590 net) , how many hours average a 737 captain fly?
How many consecutive days off maximum?
I understand an aparment rent is about 1200 US.
Any COPA pilot who wants to response the truth????
