New pilot looking for work
Hello, I am a US citizen who just finished flight school in August. I have ASEL/ AMEL commercial and instrument. BUT I only have about 255 hours total.
I’ve been applying to as much places as I can, but with low hours there’s not a lot of options I’m seeing. Hoping Canada will have better options. I don’t know how the FAA to Canada conversation goes so if anyone has done something like this I would love to hear how it’s done and whatnot.

No right to work in Canada, no Canadian license, no luck.
Things are no doubt better in the US anyway. I'd focus your efforts there. What about Ameriflight or some other scabby operator?

You will need to be a Canadian citizen or Canadian Permanent Residence holder or get a special work visa. Such work visa's are generally issued if and only if there is a massive shortage in that job field. I will say that Canada is a lot more streamlined with issuing non-immigrant visas versus the USA. You could be a Canadian citizen if one of your parents was born there (or even a Canadian citizen birth abroad) and lived there for at least a year. Otherwise, there are plenty of junior pilots in flight schools across Canada to sop up the jobs thus I would highly doubt you could get a special visa to legally work in Canada as a Pilot.
