Showing up as at altitude 5,000 feet.

Been holding, now looking like it's on approach to land..

Was on final approach, down to 185 knots at 3800 feet, then turned 90 degrees to the right. Squawk code is 7700. Aircraft is a B-767-338, registration C-FOGJ.

Thankfully it seems to have landed safely at KEF.

B 767 in service

WJ definitly took a calculated risk with this venture, might take a year or so to shake the inevitable gremlins that come with operating an older airframe.
Does the 737 MAX have the legs and capacity needed if want to replace them on the overseas routes?

They're using a 737 already for the St Johns to Dublin route (yes, I know that's quite a bit shorter).

WJ has been going to the AOG well with the 67 much more than the 37.

They will have to build a spares holding $ignificantly larger per airframe than for the 37 to be able to get 67s back in the air with minimal delay. The smaller number of 67s makes it harder to find a substitute for one that's down on the other side of the pond.

They also run a daily 737 from St Johns to Gatwick.

The word is that the ongoing 'issues' with the ex-Qantas birds is going to have a huge dent on their Q3 and final 2016 earnings.

Which might explain why the bar-stewards charged me $300 today to change a flight when previously it was for $50 and a smile.

Their descent to AC levels of customer 'service' continues apace.

Thank God Air Transat is getting their act together in Canada. Flew into MAN-YYZ an hour or so ago and have to give them 10/10.

Well done, guys! (bien fait les mecs!)
