VFR Navigation Apps
Hi,
I recently got my FLVC back from Transport Canada issued on the basis of my EASA PPL (but without my IMC as that's a UK only rating) - I'm used to using SkyDemon (Android) as an aid to VFR flight planning however, they have no coverage (at all!) in Canada (where I intend to fly over the next few months). I've heard that Air Navigation Pro has a decent Canadian chart but there is no free trial so I have no real way of knowing how good it actually is.
Would anybody be able to recommend an app they've used/heard good things about?
Many thanks,

I've used ForeFlight (www.foreflight.com), which is excellent but a little pricey for Canadian subscription. Worth it depending on your flying rate. I used it extensively for training IFR and cross-country students. (The rates for Canadian products are substantially higher than the FAA equivalent due to the cost of access to NavCanada digital databases). Great inflight services and moving map. I believe they have a 30-day trial.
For rough desktop planning I use SkyVector (www.skyvector.com). Free and has good SA tools.

Thanks - Foreflight seems to be iOS only which won't be any good for me unfortunately!
Yes, I'd found SkyVector on another forum and it is very good - pity they don't have an app... They do, however, use FAA charts not NavCanada.
