I've used ForeFlight (
www.foreflight.com), which is excellent but a little pricey for Canadian subscription. Worth it depending on your flying rate. I used it extensively for training IFR and cross-country students. (The rates for Canadian products are substantially higher than the FAA equivalent due to the cost of access to NavCanada digital databases). Great inflight services and moving map. I believe they have a 30-day trial.
For rough desktop planning I use SkyVector (
www.skyvector.com). Free and has good SA tools.
