I would call Citizenship and Immigration directly. Reading into the program as I did, there are a number of different avenues open for a host of different cases. You're probably right that a pilot licence from a flight school is not covered because it's only a licence, not a tertiary form of education...but, you'll not know unless you talk to them.

re: choice of flight schools

Too funny. Looking at the radar this morning:

You just have to shake your head and wonder
why some people put flight schools in some
places.

The reason its located in "Foggy Hollow" is that the site was picked by the Government of Ontario, who after extensive studies decided they needed to get elected in this riding, you didnt really think they would look at any other factors did you?

Or something to that effect anyway, it was certainly politics in one form or another. However despite their challenging location they've managed to graduate plenty of excellent pilots over the years.

Ontario is a huge place, with plenty of good
flight schools. Just in Eastern Ontario:

YCC: CA
YOW: OFC, OAS
YRO: RFC

Heck, at the risk of igniting a firestorm, you
could even check out Seneca at YPQ (now).

I am sure there are good schools in southwestern
Ontario, but they also get a crapload of lake
effect. Heck, here's the radar right now for Ontario:

YYZ is a pretty pricey place, but if you like the
big city, there are plenty of airports (island,
brampton, burlington, oshawa) with lots of
schools.

As I said before, I am not the biggest fan
of flight training in YAM or YQT. A tad rugged
for most people, although I am very fond of
that area.

There's really no point, as it will be deleted
by the moderators. Heck, this will probably
be deleted by the moderators, because
moderators deleting stuff is like "Fight Club" -
first rule is that you can't talk about it.

I don't know very much about aviation
compared to the experts here, anyways.

Consider the Ottawa area. Ottawa Flying Club and Ottawa Aviation Services offer flight training and are both located at Uplands/Ottawa International Airport. Rockliffe Flying Club provides CPL and IFR ratings. Gatineau Aviation, located just across the river from Ottawa, in Quebec, offers flight training as well.

Oh boo-hoo.

As you lack the breadth of experience many of the people on this forum have you are ironically correct to some degree, but it's nothing to get all pouty about.

You were on an admirable roll there Canuck being just a regular contributor with good things to say - don't ruin it now.

Well, I wasn't specifically talking about me but my experience is very common and un-extraordinary. It just happens to be more varied and serious than yours. Believe it or not thousands of people do real work with very serious airplanes that far exceed the capabilities of your stable of toys. Thousands of people - including many on this forum - have the kind of experience that you will never achieve, so you should maybe be careful who you decide to call out to compare yourself with.
