Air Canada Passes on the C-Series for Now?
Bombardier continues to pay the price for its lengthy delays and poor communication:
Air Canada to Pass on Bombardier CSeries Jet Order
Quite a shame because I am sure the C-Series will be a great performer and quite versatile once its finally finishes its testing and certification. Perhaps AC will consider ordering them down the line after fully integrating the 737 Max and 787s into their fleet... I have heard mixed reviews about the Embraers from AC pilots over the last few years.

Yes, certainly money followed by customer support, having operated a couple of their products it left a bit to be desired, for a start they need to be more responsive to AOG orders.

With the Embryos barely 10 years old and Air Canada in rough financial shape, I'm not surprised they balked. You have to acknowledge, the NGs aren't here yet, either. That could lead to a reduced total purchase of those aircraft as well.
I have no doubt that the CSeries will be a bigger success than their RJ. Test aircraft number 5 is being assembled and number 4 is about to enter the test program (www.cseris.com). Remember, certification targets are just that, targets not guarantees.
Ask Airbus or Boeing.
