Commercial Pilots!

Hello every one! i'm new to using forums and i have some questions on how i should go about becoming a commercial pilot. I'm 18 and i just graduated, i'm going back for physics and math because i didn't take them before. I have been trying to do some research and i have found that most commercial pilots come from the air force is this the only way into becoming a commercial pilot? If not what are my other options? thanks

Commercial Pilots!

Hard work, toil and study.

In my company, most of the pilots are NOT ex military pilots. Fighter jocks are actually not quite as attractive as you might think, for a variety of reasons.

The Canadian Air Force is so small I suspect they provide hardly any pilots these days.

I read somewhere there was a Cadet Program (Air Georgian?) or something.

Basically you pay a ton of money, and if you make it through their hoops you're all but guaranteed a job.

You'll probably be paid peanuts for the first few years but over the long term it would be worth the investment.

What ever you do though... stay out of debt. Debt will kill you since pilots are payed peanuts until they become Captain on something large. I hope you have rich parents. If you do, it'll make things a lot easier for you.

If you don't, you're going to have a much more difficult battle ahead.

Also remember there are way more pilots than planes in this world, and Canada is no exception.

You'll be joining an industry that is often compared to the music or acting industry, and lets just say it has its own unique version of the casting couch.
