CPL Validity

The CPL is `kept valid with 1) A medical, every year for those under 40 and every 6 months for those over 40 2) there is a requirement for some flying as well.

Flying in another country will accomplish the flying . A medical must be done by a TC or other approved medical examiner. Transport will have a list of those approved in countries other than Canada.

Regulation: Part IV - Personnel Licensing and Training - Transport Canada

Standard: Part IV - Personnel Licensing and Training - Transport Canada

BTW - You're asking a lot of Transport Canada if you think they will provide a written statement that binds their hands to anything!

Validity for the licence itself has been posted above. If you have one of the new photo licences then you have to renew it (the photo) every 5 years.

The vintage blue piece of paper is valid for as long as it is legible as far as I know...

According to the information given at the link below, the old paper licenses are no longer valid. Every licensed pilot needs to have the new booklet to exercise their privileges.
