How do each of you teach steep turns? With and without a horizon. IAS, increase power in etc.

Look over the nose till the angle is set.
Passing 30 deg full power (depending on engine size) and begin back pressure.
Passing 45 deg more back pressure.
60 deg 2g back pressure.

Look at the horizon angle in the windshield.

1/2 angle of bank for roll out heading (30 deg to go begin roll out).
Release the back pressure passing 45 deg to wings level.

Standard stuff found in the AFE flight training book.
