It doesn't matter the reason they are on strike, it's the fact they are on strike for something they believe in! no matter what that is, EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE should be supportive of their cause. Be careful of tossing that SCAB word around and be mindful that it could be any of us in that situation. as for the"cant refuse legitimate work" thing............the CAR's allow for NOT flying when one is fatigued or unable to perform safely, so be creative if you need to. Helping the AJT guys with their cause, helps us all.
Thank you for indulging my soapbox

Canada vs USA
Actually, it was not my intention to make this a "Canada vs USA" thing. When defending our profession, it should not matter to any of us which side of the border a fight is occurring. Your position is disappointing, as I can assure you that I would not cross the border and fly struck goods in ANY country, and I would be very concerned about my Canadian union brothers and sisters if this were playing out in your country. It is unfortunate that we have people, such as yourself, that have the gall to think that you actually matter enough to the rest of us loyal trade unionists to opine on this website.
It is also true that 13 Americans and some misguided management types have chosen to cross the line at Amerijet. It saddens me to see that people like you and them, people with no ethics or soul, have termited your way into our profession.

"Hi Bob, it's Joe in crew sched. We're crewing a flight for a 14:00 check-in. Can you help us out?"
"Well that depends. I need to know who we are flying for so I can decide if I'm fatigued or unable to fly safely".
"We're still waiting on the final details, I only know that it's a 14:00 check-in and that it won't be a layover".
"Sorry, Joe, but until you tell me who the customer is, I can't give you an answer. Goodbye."
10 minutes later, phone rings again.
"Hi Bob, it's the chief pilot" Are you too fatigued to come in for a little chat?"

Trey. Why don't you asked the AJ Pilots when did they vote to strike? the ansewer may not make you happy. all the pilots at AJ asked for a VOTE from the Union they said it was taken more than a 18 months ago and that was what they were going to use. Then asked them what they got out of this. 3% of pay that will come in 2010 but this Oct they pay the Union about 2%. The Union was going to leave AJ if the pilot did not vote this contrice in. All they whanted was there money the hell with all the AJ pilots. This is the only time I have seen people take a lost in a contrice what a joke.
