Am I too Old?
So I just started to get my PPL... My dream is to fly for Sata International.
I am 24 years old, and have around 30 hours and a SPL.
Even if I am too old, im still gonna give her hell and get a job with an airline. Even if it's fly Metroliners for Bearskin Airlines.
But by the time I get to a level where I can fly the big birds will I be too old for airlines to consider me?

Started flying at 22, airline job at 34, Jet Capt @39 now 53.
If I were starting over today would defiantly go to one of the colleges/university's which combine Business management and flying, something which was hard to find when I started.

started flying in mid 2001 when i was 31, regional in 2005, airline in 2007. wife had a seizure when i moved to b***f*ck nowhere for 4 yrs, but it was worth it in the end. it's generally better than driving a forklift.

Forget it, your way to old, and I don't care about your dreams, but we dont need another pilot willing to work for nothing. Move along and become a bus driver, you'll make more faster and you'll be home every days if you want....

Wish I 24 again. Starting to find grey hairs and am only in first 12 months of first flyin job. wonder if it has anything to do with zippin through the hills at 100ft doing 140 knts every day

24 is too old to still ride a skateboard. Hell, 10 is too old for that.
Hell, I'm 31 and I still love riding my skateboard.
I started flying when I was 27, had my commercial license when I was 29 and now at 31 I'm flying a large turboprop. At 24 you're not even close to being too old!! The last thing you want in life is to look back and regret that you never made an attempt to do something you love. And at 24, you're still young!

24 isn't too late. If it's your dream? Make it happen.
If I was 24, and had it to do over again, and knew what I knew now about aviation, I'd have pursued my Law Degree like I should have in the first place.
All I could add, is, make sure this is what you want to do.

It's not too late too quit, you can still pursue that law degree....
Of course, by the sounds of it, if you did it the other way around, you'd wish you were flying! That's the way of greener grasses...
At 24 you can go out and focus on aviation and get in, get your training, get out, and find a job. Just keep talking to people to get ideas on where you want to take it and what will work best for your interests when you're done training.

Not too old
You are not too old, at 24 your brain is reattaching itself back to your body and reason, logic, common sense and the begining of wisdom are coming alive.
You will obviously only have one passion, flying. Girlfriends are a burden because they will not understand your passion, and they will not want to be second place.
I got married later in life, mid 30's, got a great career flying big jets, making a lot of money. I started when I was 22.
24 is the ideal age, and you may have killed yourself had you started earlier.

Hell, you're DEFINITELY over-the-hill at 24. But at 62...? Now you're positively ANCIENT and many countries recognize that with their age-60 rule. Yep, better try bus driving, dude.

Hey Kid..
I got my Pilots licence when I was 27, and first flying job at 28, ( C185 on floats) .. did lost of crazy things, held loyalty to NONE.. had many jobs, worked all over, and in some of the worst places.. But now.. ( 22 years later ) i'm a skipper on a A330/A340 for a major international carrier in the Middle East ( one we all know )
made it to wide body skipper on a old clapped out machine for a dying company when i was 33, and never looked back..
so to answer your question... NO kid your not even close to being to old.. but with that mentality and Ideal.. you might just as well drive that bus everyone keeps talking about..

Quit cushy government job at 34 to fly.
Never even crossed my mind that I might be too old, just knew what I wanted and needed to do to get where I am today.
Today...international corporate jet captain....and loving it!!
