TSC Curry
It's never been brilliant, and as a charter operator, not an airborne restaurant, although for the $ paid, in front of the curtain it's ok, bit tight on the seats perhaps, but the catering is pretty good.
Behind the blue cloth divider, the President's Choice curry service is now in full swing, and all I hear is complaint upon complaint. You can just imagine the flatulence as well, after a good butter chicken and rice entree
Times are changing, but I don't think serving up Galen Weston curries (with no choice on anything else) to the SLF is a good idea...what do we think of this ?

I've bought them at the grocery store and I didn't think they were that bad.
However, for Indians they are probably not spicey enough. Indians are used to very hot, spicey food and the PC Indian entrees are relatively mild.

Sitting at YYZ T3 getting stuck into chicken n' fries, I was blindsided by 2 SLF who complained bitterly about the inflight service. I was going to invite them to chew on my leg bones but thought better of it LOL!
Economics behind it of course, but if the selection was improved, like chicken and pasta, might just work out ok...

Had that on a flight westbound from Gatwick to Halifax this summer. In a word...atrocious. I had precisely one forkfull. There was nothing else available, not even a stale bun. This from someone that loves a good curry.

I hear you...the comments are filling the inboxes of the bosses at YUL...
The exclusive deal with Galen Weston's off-shoot I am certain had only economics behind it...no plans to operate into Delhi or Mumbai ya know!
There's a ton of uneaten garbage at the end of each sector...so that tells you all you need to know...

I flew TS on the very first day they implamented this new meal service, the FA's were not too happy, complaint after complaint was coming back to them.
In all fairness to TSC, they had been advised this was a very popular choice at the store.
But what TSC did was implement this meal on both legs of the flight in and outbound.
I was on a YYZ-EXT-LGW. the place stunk!
midnight and im being served curry, can of larger!
Now i hear they are now serving sweet &souron the oppsosite leg.
As for being a little tight (seat wise), when did you fly?
TSC have increased there seat pitch throughout the aircraft, all AC's were done this summer, as for in front of the curtain, very roomy for the $$$

Coach is now 32" pitch...students from Montreal colleges worked on a temp basis for work experience helping reconfigure the cabins...
Boxed meals are always Asian types and tons of complaints...

Unimpressed by Transat's inflight service
Last August I flew with them from Ireland to Canada and was served President's Choice's sweet and sour chicken meal. It was Ok but their inflight service looked ridiculous and pathetic!
A few days ago I flew... Montreal to Holguin to Montreal. Outbound they served a disgusting piece of cheese pizza with ONE beverage. Inbound they served a boxed (not PC..... I think it was Wing Wong) chicken balls dish. It was revolting.... and again.... just ONE beverage.
I remember the glamour days of air Transat as they were trying very hard to kill Nationair back around 1990-1991. They did kill Nationair and inflight service has gone downhill eversince.... How low can it go?
Canadian travellers now have Sunwing Airlines on their side for trips down south. Free champagne, hot towels, free wine with meal, delicious selection of hot meals (served on a tray) with a salad and a dessert. The beverage tray is always in the aisle and non-union smiles are plentiful.
Sunwing is a gem for passengers and for its staff. I should know I've been flying for them for 2 years.

It's called keeping costs down.
The days of being pampered have long gone.
If Air Transat continued with it's pampering service throughout economy, several thousand people would be unemployed by now.
Bottom line is this, people will complain until they are blue in the face, but when it comes to there next flight they will once again ask "i need the cheapest flight"

Cheapest flight or not there's no way on this earth I will ever fly Air Transat again after my recent experience. The staff are rude, the service is crap, seat comfort is non existant and the aircraft aren't in the best of states.
You get what you pay for and Air Transat are certainly that - cheap and nasty.

I have always talked up your Club product as worthwhile. But my most recent flight to CDG this past week changed that opinion. The food was mediocre, the bread wasn't even warmed up, and I had no choice of meal, in spite of being in the first row of the Club cabin. And there was less leg room sitting next to that bulkhead than I would have had in the Y cabin.

The Curries are to be canned! No more curry!
Air Transat are giving the Curry and Presidents Choice the CAN.
A new deal has been struck up with a French catering company that has set up in Quebec and will serve up food based upon the destination.
E.G. Shepperds Pie for UK flights.
Simple easy foods.
