I've had a few reports of this around London recently, from 7000' and about 1200'.
Police helicopter was very helpful in coming to have a look round but the perpetrators had stopped by the time they arrived on scene. I'd be interested to know how much of a distration these lasers are.

At least five pilots attempting to land at airports in the GTA have complained to Transport Canada about someone on the ground shining a laser at their planes, penetrating the cockpit window and flashing the pilots in the eye.
