I study in one of the well known flight school at St Hubert. I pass my commercial, multi, IFR and instructor. I spend about 30 000 canadian dollars. When i ask them if they hire me as instructor, this is the answer the assistant chief pilot tells me: You can work for free at the marketing department and then we will give you students.

Sounds like a serious cheapo to me! However, it means:
1)they have no problem conning enough poor schlepps into their deal, and it is for real.
2)you weren't their most glowing student, and they have a bunch more that they are willing to pay to work for them.
I don't mean to flame you or anything, it's just one of the two most likely possibilities. I really don't know. Either way it sucks for you!
If you fall into category 1) then hit the road and chalk it up to experiencing somebody's true (rotten) colours. If you're in 2) or you think you are, then do some soul searching and decide "am I in the right line of work?" (unfortunately some people aren't) or "Is this a chance to prove my worth and get some experience without moving, and maybe I'll get to the paying position soon?"
Either way, it is a symptom of the Canadian system that this was even suggested. Good luck!

Why don't you try one of the companies that supply fire patrol services for the various protection agencies in the province? They usually use aicraft like Aztecs or 310s, and since you only fly when the weather is good, when it's IFR they'll usually stick you in the right seat of a Navajo to fly co-pilot.
I dunno any names, but Air Satellite and Aviation Quebec Labrador used to do this.

Pigboat is right but becarefull with those having C-182 as fire patrol plane.
Some are requesting around 2000$ for your check and are not necessary willing to take you again for the next season (prefering having new dummies paying check on type each year).
BTW, only (old) rumours and it's still a foot in the industry.

Yes pigboat is right, Fire patrol is a good place to start, I did it my self. But unfortunatly, now the new trent is doiing the fire seachig with C-182rg. They are some time not too good a place to go work for since they will pay you as less as possible. I gess it's better than working for free. The next best thing is getting the "fire spoter" position. That's done with a C-310 and they fly around the province to help in fighting the fires by guiding the CL-415. There's a specialist on board from the "SOPFEU" that besides you and talks to the fire bombers. Then you can try to find work as a F/O on a small turbo prop (E-110, King air) or a Navajo. Serval companies opperates them in differant places. Québec, Baie Comeau (Air Satellite), Alma (Air Alma), Sept Iles(Aviantion Québeccc labrador, Régionair). There's a couple more outhere just ask and you'll get some adresses.
Good luck in finding o good one.
