208 down

A 208 enroute from tofino-vancouver declared an emergency, and force landed approximately 10km from port alberni airport. Buffalo SAR planes have spotted it, and a cormorant should be on scene now or shortly. no word on casualties hopefully all are safe.

Istorik, nothing like asking for pictures of a fresh accident. Give your head a shake. Your posts seem to all be related to airplane crashes. Do you have some sort of ghoulish tendencies?

Yes, journo's are, they have the Credo of "if it bleeds, it leads" Mind you it is human nature, how many looky lou's cause more accidents craning their neck to see the car wreck?

Istorik,

Coming in to a Canadian aviation forum and asking for pictures of a fatal airplane accident on the same day it happened, is like me asking you for pictures of your house the day it burned down killing your family.

Retrieving pictures from a news website is different alltogether. I don't know how things are done where you come from, but I think many agree that your request was inappropriate.

Regency

This should be a familiar name to those on the West Coast who are not new to the business. Always on the verge it seems...All the injured and deceased are members of the same family...How very sad for the surviving family...some of whom my family know well. I hope the audit can help to "clean up" some parts of the Canadian aviation scene...this shouldn't happen to anyone.

Another terribly tragic time for those of us who operate on the west coast.
I have lost a close friend and gifted pilot. I don't know if some people reading this site realise the realities of operating in a 703 (Air Taxi Op) in this part of the world, but needless to say it can be some of the harshest flying you will ever experience.
703 is desperately under regulated by TC. Its woefully tragic because it consists of young and newly rated guys who bust their butt pursuing their dream to get that job on big metal. Some make it, but then some don't - and sometimes we lose our beloved brothers in the process. Words cannot express the emotions I am currently feeling.

I don't know whether it's TC in general or the Pacific office in particular, but you are absolutely correct. Far too much metal on mountains hereabouts.

422 Sartech boys did a great job of jumping in, with that sort of terrain. They were able to confirm survivors from the air, and they decided to jump. Followed by two down the hoist on the Chopper. Sad for those who perished, but a great jump and rescue for all involved.
