On a related note: anyone interested in buying the Brooklyn Bridge, please PM me for details.
Seriously, if anyone needs advice on choosing a flying school, etc., I would suggest that they post their enquiries on this public forum, rather than seeking private advice from someone who has a definite vested interest in steering them in a certain direction. Or (easier) obtain Chris Hobb's little book, Learning to Fly in Canada, from the public library, and review these websites:
(a) COPA's "Learn to Fly" section; and
(b) ATAC's "Learn to Fly" section (when it asks for "authentication information", just hit the "cancel" button).

Thanks for pointing this important information out guys and it would be wise for any potential student to shop around. I am a licenced Instructor but I am not employed by any schools or clubs at this present time.
I am here to offer advice on what schools to stay away from as well as pointing students in the right direction on the better schools in the Calgary area as I believe that I have a good knowledge on the pros and cons of the various options. I am not out to make a dollar or indeed log any hours as I am employed in a non aviation field. Anyway, my advice is still available to those who may be interested in flying in this part of the world.
