Going To Beirut The Day before the bombings!

Hey everyone!

The day before Isreal had bombed Beirut airport, I was at Heathrow (LHR) terminal 4 trying to get onto the Beirut! My Mum works as staff at BA in LGW and STAFF TRAVEL disallowed us to travel with no bags just because we were late! Two questions, Is that the policy for BMED and was god on our side or what!!!!

Kyledubai:ok:

despatch 26th September 2006 09:30

Hi Kyle
Bmed policy is the same as mainline when it comes to bagage.Sot it was a blessing that you did not get on.Feel free to go back now.I got a 4 day trip in 2 weeks, cant wait

strange!

i talked to bmed last week and they confirmed they are recruiting cabin crew. i decided to apply and passed on my curriculum vitae to the person i had talked to. a couple of days later i received a letter from them where it said they are no longer recruiting and will put my application on file.

is this standad procedure? the person i talked to confirmed they were recruiting and asked me to pass on the cv!

you mean it's a good sign? would they have rejected me if they didn't like my application, even if they are not recruiting?

a friend of mine applied earlier this year and received a rejection letter some days later... maybe it is a good sign then?

OK maybe BMED destination's are not all glamour , But there are NOT many Airlines
out there that pay well (Except charter) and most the destinations are very cheap .
Good luck seasick and I hope you do get the job . Either with BMED or British Airways !!

seasick 29th September 2006 15:14

thank you!

question,

in the letter i received from them, they say they i will be contacted when they hold another assessment day in the near future.

does this mean i have been successful in their shortlisting procedure?

superairhostess 29th September 2006 15:22

Newbagr

Yes believe it or not Bmed is my first choice over BA LGW

Money my first reason

Better roster and closer airport my second one

It 's up to your priorities and personal situation I reckon

I know which ones are mine....:E

From The BA Website:

BMED to withdraw Heathrow - Tashkent service

British Airways franchise operator BMED has announced it is to withdraw services between London Heathrow and Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from the beginning of the Winter 2006/07 schedule. The last departure from London will be on 26 October 2006, the last departure from Tashkent will be on 27 October 2006.

SuperBoy 29th September 2006 19:03

Not surprised that they are withdrawing TAS. Remember those flights being rather empty. Either that or they're using the a/c on more lucrative routes.

or both ;)
