Sometimes It CAN Work
Hmmmm... interesting discussion thread.
Although not currently in the industry (I used to be --- a gate agent), I've never really had too much of a problem dating flight attendants. I think 90% of what can make or break it depends on the individuals involved. As for me, I'm not an extremely "clingy", co-dependant person, so if my significant other has to disappear for a few days, it doesn't bother me. Equally important, she can't be "clingy" or co-dependent as well. Obviously, a lot of trust is involved.
Just as long as I know when she's coming back and we're gonna be spending "quality time" between the sheets as opposed to haggling over what brand of detergent to buy at the supermarket.
I'd much rather have a limited amount of time with my partner where we're getting along well, than a situation where I see her day in and day out, on a predictable schedule, where we're constantly nagging each other about petty stuff.
Regardless of what your occupation is, a relationship can be as good (or as bad) as the two people involved want to make it.
Being gone for several days is tolerable. I've heard that crews that work for World Airways can be gone for much longer periods than that. That could be a challenge.
Oh, and, wouldn't you know....you caught me at a good time. I'm between relationships right now. Applications now being accepted. Inquire within.

Aw man!
First read this post a while back and all things in my lovelife were going great! Seeing a fantastic girl from another airline and i was smiling most days!
Then almost a year to the day we met, rub a dub dub your dumped! the reason, "its not you, its me!"
So gutted, due to work only seen each once a week but now think once every few months will be lucky!
Anyway, you know!
