Impulse BNE Base to Open!
Hello everyone....
You have all been asking for so long....
Impulse is to open a combined BNE/OOL base (mostly BNE flying. Just reserve/ad hoc out of OOL I think) of 15 Pursers and 40 Flight Attendants from late April. The positions will be filled from the downsizing of HBA, MEL and SYD.
There is also a transfer list a mile long for existing crew to head northwards. Still if you want to be BNE based you can now apply and list it as a preference. I think they will hold people who are successful but don't get there number 1 base until a position opens.... Or do they force you to go wherever?
There are special work rules imposed by the FAAA regarding the split base arrangement to make it very fair for those concerned.

Great news for those who want to transfer... Best of luck all.. Hey Ditz must catch up for coffee sometime...
Just off the topic a little.. Ditz do you how many FA's are expected to transfer to mainline S/Haul as progression per year??

There was to be an initial 16 and then groups of 15-20 every intake but with the war looming who knows ?!? Those figures are my (limited!) understanding of something that was said unofficially - so take with a grain of salt! There is many factors involved and it is very complicated. Career progression is a very delicate issue with QF Industrial Relations. It is one where you just accept whatever they do, when they do it.

I wonder what an impulse base in brissy will mean for the NJS girls???
What are your routes out of there going to be Ditzy?? When's it going to open? When are you going to take over the world?!

Sorry Cart Tart - No answers except they are pushing for a late April opening. I don't actually think there will be any more flying outta BNE than there is now. Unless they take a/c off other routes? I think they are opening the base coz at the moment all we do is pax to and from BNE to fly out of there.
