Private flying in UK or middle East
HI am thinking of going into private flying in the future and wondered if anyone knows of some good companies in the UK or in the middle east? Would be great to hear what I can expect, rough hours of work salary etc,
Many thanks

One of my pals used to do Private flying and said that back in the day it was absolutely amazing and glamorous. However , like all good things , the good times have come to an end. I had been considering leaving my airline to do some private work but he persuaded me not to.
Bear in mind that you will not have a union to protect you and that in many customers' opinions , you come with the ticket . If a prestigious customer were to have wandering hands , a blind eye may well be turned by the company you are working for. Obviously this may not be the case with all private jet operators (well the organisations that supply the cabin staff), but it is certainly something he said I should consider.
Also rosters as other airline crew know it are not a reality. Most crew work on contracts where they are on call for a month and stood down for a month or a work pattern along these lines.
The money used to be fab but apparently it is not so good any more . As with all small organsiations , it's all rather cliquey with the best jobs going to the boys (not literally boys - just a figure of speech).
I apologise if any of this is inaccurate as I am not an expert and am only repeating a conversation I had with my friend some time ago.

Thanks for your help areoflirt. Gives me something to think about. The airline I currently work for doesn't have a union ( its illegal to have one here!) So am used to that already, Does anyone have a ball park figure for pay and some companies that i could look in to?

Hi
Try companies like Jet Aviation web site www.jetaviation.com or Jetclub www.jetclub.com.
or you could always try jackie at www.jetpersonnel.biz mind you she is a bit abrupt on the phone and you really need to get professional photos done.
Dont believe everything you hear about corporate flying its hard work but can be fun if your with the right outfit and crew
Ball park figure is about 26k plus per diem of usd 50/100 depends on the company.
Some companies have you on a rotation of month on/off or some on call 24/7 depends again on a/c type and company or even if your the only crew member.
It is a very tough field to get into and yes friends in the biz goes a long way recomendations also help. Hows DXB do miss it have you been to the new Zinc bar had a good time their xmas and New Year.
If you need any more info PM me. I am a corp f/a based out of the UK.
b/regards

Thanks GC. Will be looking into it as realize I can't live here for ever! Was at Zinc the other night. A lot better than Rock Bottoms and day but I still miss Diamonds and the Lodge.
Thanks again
Thanks again
