One of my pals used to do Private flying and said that back in the day it was absolutely amazing and glamorous. However , like all good things , the good times have come to an end. I had been considering leaving my airline to do some private work but he persuaded me not to.
Bear in mind that you will not have a union to protect you and that in many customers' opinions , you come with the ticket . If a prestigious customer were to have wandering hands , a blind eye may well be turned by the company you are working for. Obviously this may not be the case with all private jet operators (well the organisations that supply the cabin staff), but it is certainly something he said I should consider.
Also rosters as other airline crew know it are not a reality. Most crew work on contracts where they are on call for a month and stood down for a month or a work pattern along these lines.
The money used to be fab but apparently it is not so good any more . As with all small organsiations , it's all rather cliquey with the best jobs going to the boys (not literally boys - just a figure of speech).
I apologise if any of this is inaccurate as I am not an expert and am only repeating a conversation I had with my friend some time ago.
