Can fat people fly on Easyjet?

Good evening,

I am flying for the first time on Easyjet soon.

I am a rather large gal, size 26, and im absolutely terrified the belt wont fit around my middle. Im so frightened, that its affecting the way I should be looking forward to my holiday.

Ive heard that crew are able to supply a belt extension, should the need arise.

Am I best asking for an extension as the crew greet me when I board the plane, or am I best checking if the normal belt fits me first, and if not, asking a crew for one then.

Im having images in my head that there wont be enough extenders, and ill have to leave the plane, and my boyfriend will fly off into sunnier climates alone

Please help!!!

There's a reason why we have these Extension Seat Belts;

The people who fly with us and pay our wages come in all different shapes & sizes where as Aircraft Seat Belts only come in one....tight!

So what ever you feel more comfortable with asking for one at the door, the crew member will bring it down to you, or trying your belt first for fit, you will not be the first or last passenger that day who will ask for one

So relax, find your seat and look forward to your holiday safe in the knowledge that we'll have you at your destination safe & sound in no time!

My father in law has a 50 inch waist - and I mean waist, not where men wear their trousers these days, and he is fine with the regular seat belt, so I am sure you will be fine.

Have a great flight

Don't worry

My daughter is cabin crew for Easyjet, firstly she ask's you not to worry as the crew are there to help you always. If you want and your travelling with your family or friends you may want to book another seat to give you more room and make you feel more comfortable.
Enjoy your holiday and don't worry.

If you are size 26 and, as you say, flying for the first time, how on earth are you a '' mile high member'' ?

To be fair this question should have been;

If you are flying for the first time, how on earth are you a '' mile high member'' ?

Isn't it great how a pleasant thread can suddenly go downhill when the self appointed comedians arrive?

Any one the size the OP is should not be allowed to fly ,there a nightmare, they wreak the seats, make life a misery for the person seated next to them, increase the fuel burn and if the worst came to the worst would be a total liabilty blocking the aisles and exits ...ban em until they sort themselves out

Whilst I have a great deal of sympathy with the last poster's viewpoint..........
HAVE YOU STOPPED TO THINK SHE MAY HAVE A SERIOUS MEDICAL CONDITION . (other than emotional prob's -weak-will /gluttony/lack of self-control or discipline etc.)
there are a number of conditions which cause people to put on excess weight and the results are beyond the control of the sufferer.

However, one must face the real-world fact that an increasing percentage of the population are grossly obese through sheer greed and a diet of junk food.
Why should the self-disciplined,normal -sized person have to subsidise these people?
Yes, I do have experience! My daughter-in -law is a "big girl"....she didn't used to be, but everything and everyone else is the problem, not her ginormous portions and constant self-indulgence. no- expensive pre-made meals don't work if you scoff junk in between!.
Heart, respiratory, joint and diabetic problems are just around the corner....not to mention inacessible car, chairs breaking, doors and passageways too tight and the sheer humiliation that's self-imposed.

Of course, the PC brigade would have us absolve these poor,misunderstood, unhappy wretches from any personal responsibility for their own situation... they're victims, honest!.

Fair enough there are the very odd case of obesity caused by medical conditions however the vast majority is down as you rightly state to laziness and greed.. no excuse ,everyone knows if you sit on your arse watching jeremy kyle all day and stuffing crap down your trap there is only one outcome.

Its not only pilots ,a lot of engineers appear to think the world revolves about what they do, fair enough they have a responsible job as do pilots but so do ops dispatch ground handlers who contribute equally to that on time departure
Don't worry about him OP. He's obviously hung up on something. It's shameful that you slipped through the net and made it as airport staff at all with comments like this:

Perhaps you could look at other full fares airlines that offer business class seating - it's often wider seats and more legroom for your comfort and you will get priority boarding.

Remember - pax pay our wages. Show some respect.

Isn't it interesting that the only acknowledgement of medical conditions causing obesity is physical? The mind is more complicated than the body, and depression, anxiety and other mental conditions are often the true cause of eating conditions or weight problems. I would happily sit next to a size 26 lady rather than a judgmental pompous ass. But that's my preference.

It doesn't matter what size the OP is, or what anyone thinks, she is entitled to get on the plane and be treated with respect. Beauty comes in all sizes and true beauty comes from within. For example the response girtbar gave shows true beauty.
