Thomson Airways 737 LGW-DLM a few questions

A little confused (and put off) following my flight to Dalaman :

Around 1 hr into the flight, the cabin crew came round serving "drinks and snacks" ... but with Thomson's new onboard food, this includes the "meals". Obviously, on a 4 hour flight, between 4 and 11 (local) you don't want to eat that soon! We enquired as to when the meals would be served at somepoint after this, and recieved a pretty snappy reply that they had already been done (however, the trolley did come round again after this, which was appreciated).

But my main concerns started on approach - we received a PA announcement from the captain, and then no more was said by the cabin crew - not until we landed. The lights never got dimmed, much to my surprise, despite it being totally dark outside the cabin. This didnt concern me as such, I was just upset as it meant I couldn't film out of the window lol.

So my question is, is this a new procedure or something? or were the crew just busy that night? I spoke to the pilots after landing, and they said they were turning straight around for Gatwick again.

The flight home however was faultless, we were kept "in the know" about all bits of the flight, and the lights got dimmed.

on the sky a/c the night take off landing setting leaves some cabin lighting, re the service hot food is generally offered on 1st bar particularily on late/night flts as pax want to sleep, crew will cook on request later subject to availability but takes 25 mins to cook, sounds a bit like you had off crew member but with the rosters they are operating at the moment not suprising as they are so tired.

I know they leave some lighting - but on the first flight, it was full lighting

I'm not surprised the crew were like that - sounds like they have them running non stop.

My own fault with the food really, hadn't been on a Thomson flight since they introduced this new food thing, so misunderstood it probably

Thanks!
