Does it help to become a pilot?
It obviously depends on the airline and their policies. A good friend of mine at a US major was hired as a flight attendant before he was old enough to be hired as a pilot although he had the required experience. They gave preference in interviews to current employees, and he became the youngest pilot ever hired there.

I have been looking at doing the same, I have been given advice from some pilots who had done it this way.... All people keep saying is make sure you still take the cabin crew job seriously and be as best as you can and then do all your pilot training on the side. I live in the south east in the UK, I just stuck on what to do now..... Can anyone recommend any good airlines that would good to work for as cabin crew from gatwick?

My friend didn't have money, so he got his Bachelor degree then went for Steward in Air Arabia, earned money, went to flying school, did CPL-IR, then FITS, now he is about to go into a regional Airline. But he is now 34.
