Open university Virgin crew??

Hi guys,

I'm currently in a Groundschool for Virgin and was wondering if there's any current crew for Virgin out there that are completing online degrees ?

My question is that I'm a year into my degree and want to restart after GS finishes but I'm worried about getting exam date off, as they tend to only release the exact exam date a few weeks before the exam.

This may mean that I have missed the cut off for putting in requests for that roster and was wondering if anyone out there is currently doing an online degree and could let me know if they still manage to get to exams?

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks.

my experience was that employers recognised that an OU degree was good quality and required a lot of determination to persevere to the end - both those qualities are valued and sensible employers try to accommodate students because they need people like that.

good luck - it is worthwhile.

Emma-loo,

Hope this helps, I am also studying with the OU and my experience is that exam dates are published as early as a couple or maybe even three months in advance. This might depend on the modules you are studying, but the examination periods are always set well in advance. For example, my tutor told me that the examination period is between 10-19th October for modules starting in Jan/ Feb this year.

Do ask your tutor and/ or the curriculum manager for your module, they should be able to narrow it down to a sort of ten day period, and then you can maybe book leave in advance.

Good luck!

Hello!

I'm also studying with the OU, dd101 and u213 at the moment. Just wondering last days if I'm able to be cc and continue my studies. I guess yes, so just looking around for any cc job

Emma-loo and marwan 26,

October exam dates are now published, that means that you will normally have up to 7 months notice.

Good luck!
