Qantas 747/A330 changes

Saw on Travel Daily and YSSY forum that Qantas intends to remove First class from ALL 747's, First will remain only on 12 380s for LAX / SIN / LHR flights only,4-class 380s will have business class reduced from 72 to 60 and a new 48 seat upper deck (premium?) economy , reconfigure A330-200/300 with A380 Y seats AND A380 IFE

With the IFE changes in particular, will this make life any easier for Cabin Crew?

It will, provided they change it to a system that is far more reliable than the current system.

the sooner they put the flatbeds(totally flat) in the better.
First class is a waste of space, they should expand business.
better still gutt the whole thing and start again.

But technically, if we reconfigure on the 744, arent we going back to the three classes. J/C the new P, W the new J/C and so forth.

In time the prices will increase and be charged like first class anyway.

tic,

I regularly fly to Changi from LHR on a 747 or 380, but I've never flown in a 744. Could you describe what it looks like please?

A 744 is industry shorthand for a 747-400, in the same way 752 is a 757-200 or 773 is a 777-300 or going back a 747-200 was a 742.

Sorry Just a joke

So what does does 47-4Qfit mean????????
Sorry just a joke that backfired 744 "4 class = 400 PAX Quick Fit" as the thread was about reconfiguring the QF744s/A332 &3s. 747 -400s carry roughly 400 passengers

Beerdrinker has answered the question correctly
A 744 is industry shorthand for a 747-400, in the same way 752 is a 757-200 or 773 is a 777-300 or going back a 747-200 was a 742
Airbus A332/A333 = A330-200 A330- 300 and so on.

Thumbs up Amen!!

Thank you Mr Joyce, It is about time we finally realise that we are losing customers because of our ageing fleet! Now we need to get rid of the 20+ year old 767's off the international runs.
A380 B747 all with great FLAT beds and a IFE system that works. A330 + 787, this is a great International Fleet.
