XL stopping all Caribbean flights........

Any reasoning behind this? Are they trying to protect the Travel City Direct operation?

What will happen to the LGW based crew now? Fingers crossed the negotiations with the banks comes through with the right result.

The Carribean flights were making a loss, this along with the fact the aircraft on that route (NI) lease is coming to an end made sence, considering current market, ie fuel costs and re financing at this difficult time to terminate the loss making routes. The Travelcity product is still very profitable for XL leisure and as the A330 doesnt arrive untill march the single B767 left in the fleet will only be able to operate the SFB for LGW & MAN. As for how this effects the LGW crew i dont know, but as with alot of airlines at the moment its a very difficult time for everyone, so fingers crossed all is well, for all bases and at all airlines.
