pay rates for Nat Jet

Hi Jenni

Well it has been sometime since I worked for NJS a good 3 or so years. However when I was there they were on an EBA. Starting salary was about $21,000p/y, this didn't include uniform allowances or any other allowances. I think you would probably have made $30,000p/y in perth

Perth crew do not do alot of o'nights - don;t get me wrong they do get some but they are mainly day trips and your back in perth at night. In saying this I know at the moment they have lost an enoumous amount of staff due to AWA's so the potential to make more $$ is definately there

If you look beyond peth such as Darwin or Carins you would make alot more money there as they are away 2 - 3 days per trip, get lots of o'nights and plenty of $$$$. + CNS is absolutely stunning! (i.e. I have known people in DRW or CNS bases who have been there 2 years and thety are getting into the $50K mark cos of all the trips. The downside is you don't get trips to every mainland capital in Oz. + the travel you get is only to their locations, so if you lived in Sydney you would have to get back to a mainland base that QL fly to the leg it on another carrier from there.

I know that they have had alot of trouble with the introduction of AWA's, from people I am intouch with, but now that little johnnie has been kicked out this may will again.

In saying all of the above, working with NJS was the best experience of my life, I have never worked with a warmer bunch of people, and enjoyed my job so much, it was a fantastic experience I have cherished every single second I was working for them. + you are wearing the Qantas uniform, flying on 717's and the training while full on is great...

It's a great way to get a foot in the door, gain some fantastic experience, work with some wonderful people, and see some great places.

I hope this gives you a bit of an insight, as said this information was 3 years ago and I am sure it has changed a bit since then, so I hope any NJS/QL crew can update this further for you. Good luch with your dream I hope that you achieve it and enjoy it to the fullest
