i want to be a virgin (FA that is)
can anyone please help me, i have recently applied to Virgin Atlantic for the position of junior flight attendant and i have heard nothing back, ok so it was only 2 weks ago and i have had a letter saying that my application is being considered and that was about 10 days ago but do they really mean "no thank you" and that my application is really in the bin. could anyone pass on their knowledge and wisdom of this applying for jobs lark and help me become a flight attendant, i would be so good at it and i have all that is needed i am sure, please help

As nobody has replied seriously so far, I'll kick in my (mere) 2 cents worth. I had a good friend (many, many moons ago, when BY was running early 737s) who managed to get a job, and my own daughter quite recwently got on with an American airline as an FA.
Don't know what Virgin's system is but a lot of airlines will "call everyone" (sometimes just a newspaper ad to "show up on a certain day" and you have got about 5 minutes to get them to notice you out of the crowd. (Blond and big T1Tz does help, but looking around the cabins, there must be other cabin crew qualifications accepted!) Try to think of something to get over in that few minutes (if that's all you have) to make them remember you and want to see you for a more detailed interview.
In my daughter's case, it was the English (non)accent, and the little item she dropped about her Sim hours on a 747-446 (my "handle" gives away the reason for that!) but you'll have to find your own strengths.
Don't forget that they want to hear that you see the job as "an essential (and interesting) part of the Flight Safety Team", and not "I want to serve people drinks, smile at them, and fly to sunny places"!!
If you finally make it through 2 or 3 interviews, you're in for a few weeks of really gruelling work in the training school (with some interim testing and/or evaluation and some of the class will drop out or be dropped). The final terror is "finals" by which time your emergency drills have to be bl00dy good - better to be up half the night for a week before than partying for 6 nights and then up ALL night the night before "finals"!
Once you manage to get through that - try to keep your nose clean for 6 months and don't p1ss off any of the pilots or the Chief Stew before you finish your "probationary" and be reasonably well-behaved after that, and you'll get an interesting carreer.
